Business Development Executive at IT Lab, Manchester

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Marketing Execution, the Business Development Executive will play a vital role in creating new opportunities and converting leads generated by the Marketing function into fully qualified opportunities for the sales team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Managing all inbound new business opportunities
• Qualifying the requirements of a prospective client and articulating how IT Lab can assist with those requirements
• Managing IT Lab’s lead management system, to ensure all leads are followed up and dealt with in line with IT Lab standards
• Responsible for reviewing and early qualification of public tenders
• Liaising with technical colleagues and business development to nurture tentative enquiries through to conversion
• Maintaining longer term contact with opportunities where applicable.
• Proactive prospecting into target client base (using a combination of phone, social media & email)
• Following up leads created by Marketing
• Working closely with the Marketing team and Sales team.
• Predominantly office based although attending networking events is encouraged

This role will be based in Manchester; however, you will work amongst a team split across our Manchester and London offices.

Background, Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have/be:
• Demonstrable telephone based lead generation skills (telemarketing)
• Strong business acumen to assist with understanding a client’s requirements and assess compatibility with IT Lab’s services
• Experience in business development or telesales role
• Able to articulate IT Lab’s values and USPs
• Good understanding of the overall marketing mix
• Confident, well-organised, self-initiating and outcome focused
• Proactive team player willing to pitch in to help the Marketing team surpass expected performance
• The ability to articulate thoughts and points clearly and confidently
• Excellent attention to detail
• A passion for all things digital
• Proactive team player willing to pitch in to help the Marketing team surpass expected performance

Package and Logistics
• Competitive package (dependent upon experience)
